Affordable Health Insurance Legislation Faces Hurdle in Massachusetts
Now that Massachusetts has elected a Republican Senator, and thereby killed the current health care legislation as it exists right now, many people are asking, "what's going to happen, and will we ever have affordable health insurance?"
If Barney Frank is to believed, the answer is maybe.
In an article at Boston's WBUR.com, Frank addresses the likelihood that affordable health insurance will ever come to pass.
Some Republicans had feared that Democrats would push the bill through before Senator Scott Brown could take his seat, in effect cheating the bill into existence.
However Frank assures the public that "respect for democratic procedures" must take precedence, and that Congress will just have to "take another look at it" when it comes to a health care bill.
Whether or not affordable health insurance will come of it, Frank wasn't sure. While he suggests that some form of reform can still happen if Republicans are willing to help in the process, he still isn't sure if "that help is on the way."
