Choosing
your health insurance plan can be a mind numbing experience.
Essentially, there are two types of programs available
to people. One is known as a Health Maintenance Organization
or HMO. The other is Preferred Provider Organization also
known as PPO. Compare HMO with before you make your decision
is a smart shoppers first responsibility. PPO health
insurance plans allow for more flexibility. In essence,
a PPO health insurance plan provides you with a network
of health care providers. These health care providers
have been pre-negotiated in regards to the costs associated
with your health care. PPO health plans if kept within
the network are affordable. However, if you go outside
the established network then your PPO health insurance
plan will not cover you 100%. You must be very careful
and make sure you are within the network. It is not to
say that you wont be covered, but you don not want
to have any surprises. The best PPO plans depend on your
needs. Fill out our quick and easy form to request a quote
and a health insurance agent will present the best PPO
plans for you.
Compare HMO with PPO before you decide to purchase. An
HMO health care program is usually the least expensive
but also the less flexible when compared with a PPO health
insurance plan. In exchange for a monthly premium, you
are entitled to doctor visits, preventive care, and medical
treatment, all for an additional co-pay of $5 to $10 for
each appointment. You cannot visit a doctor who's outside
the HMO network. Requiring you to visit only doctors who
are contracted to provide services allows an HMO to keep
its costs down.
